Mark Giordano hits 400 NHL points (eventually)

After a revision by the officials took his milestone away, another has given Calgary Flames captain Mark Giordano his 400th career National Hockey League point. Giordano has been credited with a second assist in Sunday afternoon’s 6-1 win over the Arizona Coyotes.
Mark Jankowski’s shorthanded goal was originally unassisted, but Derek Ryan and Giordano have since been awarded helpers on the tally.
Giordano, 35, is the 16th player in Flames franchise history to accumulate 400 points. He’s also just the fourth defenseman to do so, joining Al MacInnis, Gary Suter and Paul Reinhart in that category. It’s the latest impressive milestone in what’s become a very impressive career for the Flames captain. The fact that he wasn’t drafted into the Ontario Hockey League or National Hockey League and had to work his way up from obscurity makes it even more impressive.
Because the milestone came via a statistical correct, though, it sounds like Giordano won’t get a puck as a keepsake to commemorate it.
