The right-shot defenceman is in his sixth season in the National Hockey League, scoring five goals and 48 points in 58 games this season. He’s coming off a 17-goal, 70-point season which was his third consecutive season with 70+ points. In 2020-21, the defenceman won his first and only James Norris Trophy.

However, they traded him to the Carolina Hurricanes in a package that included Dougie Hamilton for Elias Lindholm and Noah Hanifin. The Hurricanes also ended up trading him, this time to the Rangers where he eventually signed his entry-level contract.
