Owen Say
Game at a glance
Calgary started Owen Say for this game and Henderson started Carter Hart for his first professional game since early 2024. The Wranglers took the first penalty of the game when David Silye was called for hooking 2:14 into the first. Calgary managed to kill this penalty off, but the Silver Knights opened the scoring a few minutes later with a marker from Jeremy Davis at 8:08. A Silver Knights skater was tripped up on this play and took out Say by the legs so he had no chance at stopping the puck.
The Silver Knights continued to pepper Say with shots, then both the home and away teams exchanged penalties in the back half of the period. Justin Kirkland’s holding call at 18:28, cost Calgary a goal when Lukas Cormier scored in the final two seconds of the period. Say appeared to make the save but the puck dropped behind his back and went past the goal line.
The Wranglers were behind 2-0 after the first period and behind 16-5 in shots. Early in the second, Calgary had a power play chance when Jeremy Davies was called for interference at 1:43. Matvei Gridin was the only Wrangler able to register a shot on this man advantage.
Carter King went to the box at 6:28, then Calgary had another power play chance at 10:29, when Jakub Brabenec was called for tripping. No scoring changes happened on either special teams opportunity. The next goal came at 16:52 when Lukas Johansen beat Say on a high wrist shot.
Only 9 seconds later, the Silver Knights added another from Trevor Connelly with a backhand shot he flipped over Say. The period ended with offsetting calls to Lucas Ciona for cross checking and Riley McKay for roughing. At the end of 40 minutes, the Silver Knights led 4-0. Shots were 12-4 Henderson in the middle frame.
Calgary wasn’t able to generate much for the majority of the third but found some life in the last five minutes. Clark Bishop was in the box for hooking and Matvei Gridin scored the shutout breaker at 14:58 to put Calgary within three. Sam Morton picked up the lone assist.
Less than a minute later, Daniil Miromanov scored as well off a set up from Dryden Hunt and Jeremie Poirier. This goal came at 15:47.

The Wranglers pulled Owen Say at 17:37 and the Silver Knights ended up taking a penalty at 18:58 to give Calgary a six on four. Henderson had a few chances on the empty net that went wide but ended up scoring a buzzer beater at 19:59 to put this game away. The final score was 5-2 Henderson and shots finished 33-14 for the Silver Knights.
