Friends, we’ll have some summer hockey.
Per multiple reports, the National Hockey League and the NHLPA have both voted to ratify the proposed Return to Play protocols and a four year extension to their collective bargaining agreement.
Hearing #NHLPA membership voted 502-135 in favor of ratifying full CBA and RTP package. That's nearly 79 per cent in favor.
With the CBA now ratified, NHL players can officially opt-out of this summer's training camp and playoffs without penalty until 5 p.m. ET on Monday. Players must notify their teams in writing before that deadline. No reason needs to be provided.
We’ll have more on this, including what it means for the Calgary Flames and you as a hockey fan, as information is released to the media by the NHL and the clubs.
