It’s a Boxing Day edition of What’s Going On In The Pacific Division!
As of the Christmas break, the Vegas Golden Knights lead the Pacific Division with a 23-8-3 record for 49 points. The Edmonton Oilers have a 21-11-2 record with 44 points, while the Los Angeles Kings have a 19-10-5 record with 43 points.
The Vancouver Canucks are still in the hunt to finish in the top three spots, as they have a 17-10-8 record with 41 points, while the Calgary Flames have the best non-playoff record of 16-11-7 with 39 points. Outside the playoff race are the Seattle Kraken (15-19-2, 32 points), the Anaheim Ducks (13-16-4, 30 points), and the San Jose Sharks (11-20-6, 28 points).
Let’s take a look at how each of the eight teams are doing at the Christmas break!

Anaheim Ducks

It was a solid week for the Anaheim Ducks, as they defeated the Winnipeg Jets and Utah Hockey Club, but fell to the Colorado Avalanche and the Vegas Golden Knights to go 2-2-0.
Troy Terry has continued to be their most productive player, as he has nine goals and 25 points in 33 games. Frank Vatrano also has nine goals, while Ryan Strome has five goals and 16 points. In net, Lukáš Dostál has a .915 save percentage and a 2.77 goals against average in 20 games played. John Gibson has a .909 save percentage and a 2.84 goals against average in 12 games played.
The Ducks return from the break on Saturday, as they have a three-game home stand against the Philadelphia Flyers, Edmonton Oilers, and New Jersey Devils.

Calgary Flames

The Flames only played two games this past week, hosting the Ottawa Senators and losing 3-2 in overtime, before a wild one against the Chicago Blackhawks that saw them win 6-4.
Jonathan Huberdeau is having a good season, as he has 13 goals and 25 points, with Nazem Kadri matching him with a team-leading 13 goals. Connor Zary has eight goals and 20 points and Matt Coronato has nine goals and 18 points. In net, Dustin Wolf has a .910 save percentage and a 2.80 goals against average.
This coming week, the Flames head on a two-game road trip against the San Jose Sharks and Vegas Golden Knights, before returning home to host the Vancouver Canucks.

Edmonton Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers played three games this past week, defeating the Boston Bruins, San Jose Sharks, and Ottawa Senators. Over their last 20 games, the Oilers are 14-5-1.
Leon Draisaitl’s 24 goals lead the league, while he also has 52 points. Connor McDavid has played just as well, scoring 15 goals and 49 points. Zach Hyman has been on a roll lately and now has 13 goals and 19 points in 29 games, while Evan Bouchard has six goals and 25 points. In net, Stuart Skinner has an .895 save percentage and a 2.85 goals against, while Calvin Pickard has a .901 save percentage and a 2.37 goals against average.
The Oilers return to action on Saturday with a back-to-back against the Los Angeles Kings and the Anaheim Ducks, before returning home to face the Utah Hockey Club.

Los Angeles Kings

It was an okay week for the Los Angeles Kings, as they went 1-1-1 with a win over the Philadelphia Flyers, an overtime loss to the Nashville Predators, and a 3-1 loss to the Washington Capitals.
Anže Kopitar leads the team with 37 points, potting 10 goals along the way. Adrian Kempe’s 16 goals lead the team while he also has 32 points. Alex Laferriere and Kevin Fiala each have 13 goals as well. Darcy Kuemper has played well this season, as he has a .911 save percentage and a 2.34 goals against average. Former Calgary Flame David Rittich has an .891 save percentage and a 2.46 goals against average.
The Kings play two games this week, hosting the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday and the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday.

San Jose Sharks

It was a tough week for the San Jose Sharks, as they lost to the Colorado Avalanche and Vancouver Canucks in regulation while falling 3-2 to the Edmonton Oilers after a late Oiler goal.
Mikael Granlund leads the team with 33 points with 11 goals. Macklin Celebrini and Fabian Zetterlund each have 11 goals, while former Flame Tyler Toffoli leads the team with 13 goals. Luke Kunin has 10 goals, with youngster William Eklund scoring seven goals and 27 points. Yaroslav Askarov has played well in a small sample size, as he has a .909 save percentage in four games played.
This week, the Sharks host the Vegas Golden Knights, Calgary Flames, and Philadelphia Flyers.

Seattle Kraken

It wasn’t a good week for the Seattle Kraken, as they were 0-3-0 with losses to the Chicago Blackhawks, Vegas Golden Knights, and Colorado Avalanche, extending their losing streak to five games.
Jared McCann has 12 goals and 27 points, leading the team in both categories. Oliver Bjorkstrand has played well this season too, as he has 11 goals and 24 points. Chandler Stephenson has three goals and 23 points, while defenceman Brandon Montour has eight goals and 21 points. Netminder Joey Daccord has been great this year, as he has a .912 save percentage and a 2.51 goals against average in 23 games played.
The Kraken play two games this week, heading to Vancouver to face the Canucks, before returning home to host the Utah Hockey Club.

Vancouver Canucks

It was a great week for the Vancouver Canucks, as they went 1-1-2, with a win over the San Jose Sharks, a regulation loss to the Vegas Golden Knights, and a pair of overtime losses to the Utah Hockey Club and Ottawa Senators.
Defenceman Quinn Hughes is the front-runner to win the Norris Trophy, as he has eight goals and 42 points, well above Elias Pettersson’s 28 points. Pettersson is one of five players with double-digit goals as he has 10. Pius Suter and Brock Boeser each have 11 goals, with Kiefer Sherwood potting 12 goals. Leading the team in goals is Jake DeBrusk, who has 15. In net, Thatcher Demko has an .889 save percentage and a 3.14 goals against average, while Kevin Lankinen has a .907 save percentage and a 2.61 goals against average.
This week, the Canucks host the Seattle Kraken on Saturday, before heading to Calgary to play the Flames on New Year’s Eve.

Vegas Golden Knights

The Vegas Golden Knights can’t stop winning, as they went 3-0-0 this week, with wins over the Vancouver Canucks, Seattle Kraken, and Anaheim Ducks to maintain their division lead.
This season, Jack Eichel has nine goals and 45 points, leading the team in the latter. Ivan Barbashev has a team-leading 15 goals while picking up 30 points, while captain Mark Stone has seven goals and 28 points in 20 games. Defenceman Shea Theodore has four goals and 28 points in 33 games. In net, Adin Hill has a .905 save percentage and a 2.61 goals against average.
The Golden Knights return to action on Friday, as they head to the Bay Area to face the San Jose Sharks. They’ll return home to host the Calgary Flames and the Montréal Canadiens.
