The Kansas City Mavericks have finished their season outside of the playoffs and the Stockton Heat need to hope that they win out while also hoping the San Diego Gulls don’t get another point. Basically, impossible. At least there’s synergy between all three pro levels of Calgary Flames hockey.
In case you missed it
- Here’s the last update.
- Glenn Gawdin got the wrap-up treatment.
- Stockton’s Finest offers an on-scene report of the final few games of the Stockton Heat.
- At least they got Spencer Foo, Jon Gillies, and Rasmus Andersson back.
- Here’s a look at when the Flames can draft those future prospects not yet covered in this space.
Rasmus Andersson – D, Stockton Heat, AHL
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe
Current | 53 | 8 | 30 | 38 | 23 | 21 | 14 | 27.63 |

Back in the AHL to save their season! Godspeed, young Rasmus.
Austin Carroll – RW, Stockton Heat
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe
Current | 39 | 5 | 2 | 7 | 7 | 6 | 6 | 6.92 |
Change from last week | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
He’s not playing, which is a pretty bad sign for a guy who is on the last year of his contract.
Dillon Dube – C/LW, Stockton Heat
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe
Current | 3 | 0 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 25.69 |
Change from last week | – | – | – | – | – | – | – | – |
Dillon Dube has come out gangbusters for professional debut, picking up two assists in his first three games with the club. Take these late season AHL performances with a grain of salt, but he’s been pretty dang good.
Zach Fischer – RW, Spokane Chiefs, WHL
His Spokane Chiefs have been eliminated from the WHL postseason, but Fischer hasn’t been assigned anywhere. Perhaps it has more to do with the circumstances of the farm teams than the team’s opinion of the player, but we’ll see shortly enough.
Spencer Foo – RW, Stockton Heat
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe
Current | 59 | 20 | 17 | 37 | 16 | 31 | 12 | 24.17 |
Change from last week | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Foo is also back in town to try and save the season. Perhaps he carries the good vibes from his two goals down to California.
Glenn Gawdin – C/RW, Swift Current Broncos, WHL
Swift Current is facing a tough ask against the Moose Jaw Warriors, the regular season WHL champs. They’re currently tied 1-1, with Gawdin picking up a goal and an assist so far. Gawdin currently has 13 points in nine games.
Josh Healey – D, Stockton Heat
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe
Current | 47 | 0 | 3 | 3 | 2 | 2 | 1 | 2.46 |
Change from last week | 3 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | -0.17 |
Played three games of hockey.
D’Artagnan Joly – RW, Stockton Heat, AHL
Currently in Stockton on an ATO but has yet to play. Bummer.
Morgan Klimchuk – LW, Stockton Heat
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe
Current | 62 | 19 | 21 | 40 | 23 | 31 | 19 | 24.86 |
Change from last week | 2 | 0 | 2 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 1 | +0.45 |
He missed a game (reason unknown), but Klimchuk continues on with his late season surge. Two assists this week.
Oliver Kylington – D, Stockton Heat – X
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe
Current | 59 | 6 | 27 | 33 | 22 | 22 | 16 | 21.56 |
Change from last week | 3 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 1 | +0.23 |
Another guy having a strong late season. A goal and an assist this week for Kylington.
Linus Lindstrom – C/LW, Skelleftea AIK, SHL
Playoff Hero Linus Lindstrom has matched his regular season scoring in just a quarter of the time. He’s up to four points (all assists) in 10 games during Skelleftea’s playoff run. The team is one game away from being in the Swedish finals against Vaxjo.
Ryan Lomberg – LW, Stockton Heat
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe
Current | 54 | 10 | 14 | 24 | 18 | 16 | 11 | 17.13 |
Change from last week | 3 | 1 | 2 | 3 | 3 | 2 | 2 | +1.26 |
Another guy heating up late. Three points in three games this week for Lomberg.
Andrew Mangiapane – LW/C, Stockton Heat
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe
Current | 39 | 21 | 25 | 46 | 26 | 35 | 22 | 45.46 |

Season shut down after shoulder surgery.
Mitchell Mattson – C/LW, Sioux Falls Stampede, USHL

Just one game played for Mattson this week. Was left off the sheet for Sioux Falls’ second game this week, unknown why.
Adam Ollas Mattsson – D, Stockton Heat
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe

Still here I guess.
Matthew Phillips – C/RW, Victoria Royals, WHL
The Royals are getting dummied by the Tri-City Americans (looking more and more like Memorial Cup contenders). The Royals have one goal in two games, and of course Phillips had the primary assist on it. He has a ridiculous 17 points in nine games, which is more ridiculous when you consider that Victoria has only scored 26 goals throughout the playoffs.
Emile Poirier – LW/RW, Stockton Heat
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe
Current | 62 | 6 | 20 | 26 | 18 | 18 | 12 | 16.16 |
Change from last week | 3 | 1 | 3 | 4 | 2 | 4 | 2 | +1.79 |
His first point in nearly two months!
Brett Pollock – LW/C, Stockton Heat, AHL
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe
Current | 43 | 10 | 9 | 19 | 10 | 14 | 7 | 17.03 |
Change from last week | 3 | 1 | 2 | 3 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 1.61 |
Another very strong week for Pollock, who went a point-per-game.
Daniel Pribyl – RW/C, Stockton Heat
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe
Current | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Still injured.
Adam Ruzicka – C/LW, Sarnia Sting, OHL
Sarnia is currently splitting their series with Kitchener. Ruzicka is still stuck at two assists through eight games played.
Hunter Shinkaruk – F, Stockton Heat
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe
Up to date | 63 | 17 | 15 | 32 | 19 | 26 | 17 | 19.58 |
Change from last week | 3 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 0 | 1 | 0 | +0.31 |
Shinkaruk is also having a strong finish to the season.
Hunter Smith – RW, Kansas City Mavericks, ECHL
The KC Mavericks are eliminated from the playoffs. Smith has been injured since Jan. 6, so it’s not like he was responsible.
Juuso Valimaki – D, Tri-City Americans, WHL
Currently has five points through six WHL playoff games. Enroute to sweep number two?
Tyler Wotherspoon – D, Stockton Heat
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe
Current | 64 | 7 | 30 | 37 | 18 | 19 | 10 | 22.28 |
Change from last week | 3 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 0 | -0.46 |
Just an assist for Wotherspoon this week.
Jon Gillies – G, Stockton Heat
GP | TOI | SV% | SA | |
Current | 36 | 2052.03 | .916 | 1035 |
Change from last week | 2 | 119.08 | +.001 | 59 |
Back in Stockton to close out the season. He had an alright adventure in Calgary, and you feel these next few Stockton games are going to weigh heavy in management’s mind when deciding where he should start next year.
Mason McDonald – G, Kansas City Mavericks/Stockton Heat
GP | TOI | SV% | SA | |
ECHL Current | 27 | 1538 | .894 | 762 |
Change from last week | 2 | 120 | +.002 | 60 |
AHL Current | 4 | 224.35 | .875 | 104 |
Change from last week | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Had an alright finish to the year, stopping 26 of 28 (.929 SV%) and 29 of 32 (.906 SV%) in his two games played. McDonald didn’t get called up to Stockton in the immediate aftermath of the season, which probably suggests a few things if you want to read in between the lines.
Tyler Parsons – G, Stockton Heat/Kansas City Mavericks
GP | TOI | SV% | SA | |
ECHL Current | 28 | 1576 | .902 | 849 |
Change from last week | 1 | 63 | -.005 | 38 |
AHL Current | 7 | 300.98 | .856 | 153 |
Change from last week | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Had a bad night in KC (.842 SV%), but still got called up to Stockton.
David Rittich – G, Stockton Heat
GP | TOI | SV% | SA | |
Current | 12 | 697.12 | .889 | 258 |
Change from last week | 3 | 179.30 | -.22 | 70 |
A wildly bad return to the AHL, no doubts about it. The question is whether this is a blip on the radar or a backup goalie struggling as a starter. Not great for a guy with one year on his career.
Nick Schneider – G, Calgary Hitmen, WHL/Stockton Heat, AHL
GP | TOI | SV% | SA | |
AHL Current | 1 | 20 | .800 | 5 |
Change from last week | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Schneider is also up in Stockton on goalie duty. That’s going to be one crowded bench.
