Playing in unfriendly confines and facing the prospect of elimination, the simulated Calgary Flames played their best game of the playoffs so far against the virtual Vegas Golden Knights. The Flames beat Vegas 6-1 on Saturday night to tie their best-of-seven series 3-3 to force a decisive Game 7 on Monday night.

The rundown

The opening period was tight-checking, with few good scoring chances on either side. Rasmus Andersson pinched and joined a rush, sneaking in and scoring a wrist shot goal as the trailer to give the Flames a 1-0 lead.
The game really broke open in the second period. Off the opening draw, Johnny Gaudreau scored off the rush to make it 2-0. A little bit later, Andrew Mangiapane buried a feed off an offensive zone face-off win to make it 3-0. Jonathan Marchessault scored to get Vegas on the board, but Milan Lucic and Tobias Rieder scored to make it 5-1 Flames and really quiet the crowd down.
Sam Bennett added a third period power play goal to cement a 6-1 win.
The Flames out-shot Vegas 25-19. The series is now tied 3-3.
