It’s an exciting time in the hockey world, folks. Even amidst a pandemic, leagues are chugging away and trying to get games in – subject to the necessary health and safety measures, thankfully.
In the prospect realm, a few Calgary Flames properties joined new teams this week.

In case you missed it:

  • Last week’s update
  • Dustin Wolf won a gold medal at the World Juniors!
  • Jakob Pelletier and Connor Zary captured silver medals at the World Juniors!

After spending the fall with his USHL team, and getting no points, Boltmann began his collegiate career this weekend with Notre Dame. He also got no points, but he also didn’t get lit up defensively, so that’s a nice first step. He’s starting on Notre Dame’s second defensive pairing.

With Sweden’s junior league, the J20 Nationell, done for the year, AIK finally had some clarity about Feuk’s status going forward. At Feuk’s request, the club loaned him to Kalix HC of the Swedish third league, HockeyEttan. Feuk was barely getting any playing time when he dressed for AIK, so the request makes a lot of sense.

Kinnvall played twice for HV71 and failed to register on the scoresheet. He’s still one of the top offensive blueliners in the SHL, albeit a tad reliant on the power play for his scoring.

It was a wild weekend for the Spartans against their old rivals at Michigan. They were lit up 9-0 in a loss, then came back the next game and won in dramatic fashion. Nodler had the game-winning goal to match his point output from his freshman year.

Pospisil finished his final week with HC Kosice with a point-per-game week, all of them assists. He departs from the league second in penalty minutes in the entire league with 102. As Brad Treliving quipped to Sportsnet’s Eric Francis a few weeks back: he could find trouble in church.
Pospisil’s been re-assigned to Stockton and will arrive there next week.

Chechelev allowed three goals, two of them at even strength, in a 3-0 loss this week. His pro numbers are coming down to Earth a bit, but that may be a product of him playing infrequently lately.

Wolf is remaining with the Flames’ AHL group through Jan. 20, at which point he’ll likely head with the group to Stockton. The WHL’s start date is a moving target at this point.
