Best of the Barn Burner podcast – June 12-16

It was an eventful week on Barn Burner! Boomer, Pinder and Warrener had some great discussions about the Flames, especially with Calgary Flames head coach Ryan Huska, who joined the boys for a one hour and 20 minute interview live in studio. Let’s take a look at some of the best moments from the week that was.

The 24th head coach in Flames franchise history joined Boomer and Pinder live from the Tower Chrysler studios on Monday. The boys and Ryan touched on a number of topics about Huska’s playing career, his time coaching in the WHL and AHL, and numerous topics about his time with the Flames. Huska was incredibly interesting, engaging, and thoughtful throughout the interview.

Our NHL insider Frank Seravalli joined the boys on Tuesday courtesy of Bon Ton Meat Market to discuss all things Elias Lindholm. How important is he to the Flames? Where does he rank among the top centres in the NHL? Will the Flames be able to sign him, or will they have to trade him this off-season?

This is a fascinating topic and one to watch over the coming weeks.

Jarome Iginla was introduced as the Special Advisor to the General Manager on Thursday. Iginla will be coaching his son, Joe, on the U-18 RINK Kelowna academy team for the 2023-24 season. After that he will take on more of a full time role with the club. Iginla will be in an advisory role regarding all areas of hockey operations as assigned by the General Manager.
