Several Calgary Flames players are on pace for career offensive seasons. Among them is @Elias Lindholm, who’s garnering significant Selke Trophy buzz league-wide for his stellar two-way contributions to the Flames’ top line alongside @Johnny Gaudreau and @Matthew Tkachuk.
Lindholm added to his Selke bonafides with his 30th goal of the season, scored in the first period on the power play in Saturday’s game against the Detroit Red Wings.
The goal was scored on the power play, with Lindholm executing a clean zone entry and then beating goalie @Thomas Greiss with a wrist shot from the high slot.
It’s the first time Lindholm has reached the 30 goal mark in his career. He previously scored 29 in the pandemic-shortened 2019-20 season which was truncated by 12 games. Prior to that, his career high was 27 in the 2018-19 campaign, his first with the Flames.
The Flames lead the Red Wings after the first period by a 1-0 score.
