The Flames may have lost Mike Smith for the time being, and with confidence in Eddie Lack already low, it’s likely the Flames have to look to California for a goaltender. They already have a competition brewing between Jon Gillies and David Rittich, and whoever wins could potentially open a spot for Tyler Parsons (who also may be injured, but looking ahead) in the AHL.
Not a bad time to be a Flames fan.

In case you missed it

Rasmus Andersson – D, Stockton Heat, AHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current1017833330.83
Change from last week00000000
Andersson’s brief NHL adventure ended yesterday and now he’s back in California.

Austin Carroll – RW, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current40000000
Change from last week20000000
Carroll found his way back into the Stockton lineup and fought a guy.

Dillon Dube – C/LW, Kelowna Rockets, WHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current1781321914629.38
Change from last week21232100.84
A very busy week for Dube. He finished the WHL-Russia series with two goals and three assists in two games, including this goal last Tuesday:
He came back and added three points in two games with the Rockets immediately after.

Zach Fischer – RW, Spokane Chiefs, WHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current1254965517.84
Change from last week22022221.19
Fischer scored two goals last week, including this one where he appears to completely run over a goalie? Okay, I guess.

Spencer Foo – RW, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current1314534214.82
Change from last week2000000-2.7
Foo is second only to Andrew Mangiapane in shots on goal (33 to 36). Seeing as Garnet Hathaway’s SH% is 30% and Foo’s is around 3%, we can expect a massive reversal of fortunes soon.

Adam Fox – D, Harvard Crimson, ECAC

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current506612022.63
Change from last week2011000-8.8
Harvard and Fox had a lacklustre weekend, with only one assist on the three total goals the Crimson scored.

Josh Healey – D, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current90000000
Change from last week20000000
Healey comes as advertised, I guess.

D’Artagnan Joly – RW, Baie-Comeau Drakkar, QMJHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current115611711720.50
Change from last week3022222-2.56
D’Artagnan still has yet to score a secondary point. Two more primary assists this week.

Pavel Karnaukhov – LW/C, CSKA Moscow, KHL/Zvezda, VHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
KHL current602221123.02
Change from last week00000000
VHL current14710171213837.84
Change from last week21232101.49
It’s international break in Europe, so none of the Flames’ European players actually played league hockey (this makes the rest of the update a little boring but) unless they were Pavel Karnaukhov, who was sent back to the VHL to get some game time in while the KHL team was on a break. I’m going to assume he’s back with CSKA Moscow immediately after.

Morgan Klimchuk – LW, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current1354968626.68
Change from last week21121212.15
Klimchuk added two more points this weekend, both primary. He’s oddly become the most interesting player from that 2013 draft haul.

Oliver Kylington – D, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current1316764420.75
Change from last week2000000-3.78
Oli is back on the schneid, having not scored a point in the past two weeks.

Linus Lindstrom – C/LW, Skelleftea AIK, SHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current162022225.95
Change from last week00000000
International break.

Ryan Lomberg – LW, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current130222115.93
Change from last week20111002.43
Lomberg finally got back on the scoresheet, having been absent from it since the first week of the season.

Andrew Mangiapane – LW/C, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current137121913131056.32
Change from last week21233330.26
It’s actually unreal how well Mangiapane has been playing. Three more points, all primary, all 5v5. It’s hard to see how the Flames could fit him into the lineup, but I really want it to happen.

Mitchell Mattson – C/LW, Sioux Falls Stampede, USHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current1342664410.6
Change from last week21011110.16
Mattsson scored another goal this week, just like he did last week. Consistency is key.

Adam Ollas Mattsson – D, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date70000000
Change from last week10000000
Played a game of hockey.

Matthew Phillips – C/RW, Victoria Royals, WHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current211522371425841.90
Change from last week2022110-1.91
Phillips has been slowing down over the past couple of weeks, if you can call “scoring a point per game” slowing down.

Emile Poirier – LW/RW, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current121233119.64
Change from last week10111002.63
Poirier only played in one game this past week, scratched for unknown reasons. He technically picked up an assist, but only because it was a stat correction.

Brett Pollock – LW/C, Stockton Heat, AHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current20000000
Change from last week10000000
Played a game for the first time in weeks. Didn’t see much ice time and didn’t do much, either.

Daniel Pribyl – RW/C, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current00000000
Still injured.

Rushan Rafikov – D, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, KHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current2917884416.74
Change from last week00000000
International break.

Adam Ruzicka – C/LW, Sarnia Sting, OHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date201417311123738.13
Change from last week2123121-0.14
Another strong week for Ruzicka, who picked up three points against the Owen Sound Attack. He’s (slowly) starting to become less reliant on PP scoring.

Hunter Shinkaruk – F, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date1232524216.06
Change from last week21010100.64
Scored a goal this week.

Hunter Smith – RW, Kansas City Mavericks, ECHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date91232227.65
Change from last week20111111.09
Smith added another assist this week for the Flames’ ECHL affiliate.

Filip Sveningsson – LW, HV71, Superelit/SHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
SHL current30000000
Change from last week00000000
Superelit current127714811519.13
Change from last week00000000
International break.

Eetu Tuulola – RW, HPK, SM-Liiga

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current1760636312.44
Change from last week00000000
Ditto.

Juuso Valimaki – D, Tri-City Americans, WHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current14481259320.38
Change from last week2000000-3.40
Didn’t do anything this week.

Tyler Wotherspoon – D, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current1318955426.68
Change from last week20402229.16
Wotherspoon had a massive week, picking up four assists. It really sucks for him that Brett Kulak has the final LHD spot locked down, because it’s hard to see what more Wotherspoon could do to get an NHL job.

Jon Gillies – G, Stockton Heat

GPTOISV%SA
Current8480.180.924243
Change from last week157.97-0.00631
Gillies stopped 28 of 31 (.903) in a 4-1 loss to the Manitoba Moose. I’d expect him to get the nod if Mike Smith is out for a little while.

Mason McDonald – G, Kansas City Mavericks, ECHL

GPTOISV%SA
Current52460.872117
Change from last week2118-0.03850
McDonald picked up both starts for KC this week, including a back-to-back because…

Tyler Parsons – G, Kansas City Mavericks

GPTOISV%SA
Current53590.870216
Change from last week0000
… Parsons appears to be injured. The Mavericks used an emergency backup goalie (named Sam Barnett, in case you were wondering) for both games this past weekend. Twitter searches provided no official reason for the club, but there appeared to be a nagging injury from a few weeks back that was negatively affecting his play. This is all speculation, but probably well informed speculation.
Parsons is actually playing in this morning’s (!) KC Mavericks game, so I guess he is healthy again.
(Twitter searches also revealed that Parsons got engaged this past week. Congrats, Tyler!)

David Rittich – G, Stockton Heat

GPTOISV%SA
Current5299.880.928153
Change from last week159.88-0.00926
Like clockwork, Rittich put up a stinker after a shutout, only saving 23 of 26 in 6-3 win over the San Diego Gulls.

Nick Schneider – G, Calgary Hitmen, WHL

GPTOISV%SA
Current169500.898500
Change from last week2125-0.00366
Schneider recorded two sub-.900 SV% against the Medicine Hat Tigers this weekend.
