Another thing coming up for Pettersen is the Div 1A WJC tournament, which will run starting on Dec. 9. He’s 100% going to suit up for Norway, but that’ll likely come at the expense of missing two major games against North Dakota for Denver.

Took his snapped 14-game point streak in stride, responding with a four-point outburst against Des Moines.
Aside from his four-point game, the most intriguing thing to happen to him this week is the news that he’s not going to college:
Who knows why this happened – could be academic reasons or he could have been ruled ineligible based on the NCAA deeming he played “pro” in Europe – but if it is true that Pospisil is not going to play college hockey at all (he could, theoretically, go to a different school with lower standards should the reason be academics) then it opens a floodgate of interesting opportunities.
Pospisil could possibly be signed and go straight to the AHL, as he wasn’t drafted out of the CHL and is therefore not bound by the 20-year-old rule. However, he can’t go to the CHL unless he is drafted in the import draft, which isn’t until next year, but it’s unlikely he gets selected anyways. Pospisil is a ’99 birthday, meaning that he would take up both an overage and an import slot: not desirable for CHL franchises, who have used zero picks on 20-year-old import players since 2010. If he’s not going to college, the USHL is kind of pointless.
It might be AHL or bust for Pospisil, but that’s up to the team. We’ll hopefully find out shortly enough.

We’ll forgive Zavgorodniy’s poor week in QMJHL action, as he did a number on his Q compatriots in the CHL-Russia series, burying two goals – including the game-tying goal in the dying seconds of the series – and setting up the eventual series winner for Team Russia.
Clearly, he saved his heroic performances for his home country and was just gassed afterwards.

Schneider has come in and stolen the net in the absences of Gillies and Parsons. He stopped 32/33 (0.970) and 33/35 (0.942) in both of his starts, picking up four important points for the Heat. He also picked up an assist, so his NHLe is now 9.84, just for those wondering.
