@Jakob Pelletier will look to overtake @Mark Jankowski for sole possession of the Stockton Heat rookie scoring record when the Heat visit the Ontario Reign on Sunday afternoon.
The Heat (42–12–5) and Ontario Reign (36–15–9) most recently met in Stockton on Friday, with @Justin Kirkland scoring the shootout winner in a 3–2 Heat victory. Stockton enters Sunday’s game — the final meeting between these two teams in the 2021–22 regular season — with a 5–2–0 record against Ontario this year.
Pelletier, who turned 21 in March, has 56 points (26 goals, 30 assists) in 58 games with the Heat this season. Jankowski played the entire 2016–17 season with the Heat at age 22 and racked up 56 points (27 goals, 29 assists) in 64 contests.
@Matthew Phillips took control of the single-season Heat goal-scoring record when he tallied his 28th of the season in Stockton’s 3–2 win over Ontario two days ago. Pelletier sits two goals back of Phillips’ mark; Phillips needs just two more to become the first 30-goal scorer in Stockton Heat history.
The Reign will take to the ice on Sunday wearing slick silver throwback uniforms to contrast against Stockton’s red sweaters.
@Dustin Wolf continued his outstanding AHL rookie season in Thursday’s win over Ontario, making 24 saves on 26 shots over regulation and overtime before denying both Reign shooters in the skills competition. It remains to be seen whether Wolf (32–6–3, .927 SV%) or @Adam Werner (10–5–2, .880 SV%) will get the nod in Ontario on Sunday.

Heating up

After a brief skid in early March, Dustin Wolf has been absolutely tremendous for the Heat in the last few weeks
The 20-year-old goaltender has won six of his last seven games and has allowed a total of eight goals in his last six appearances. Dating back to March 22 in San Jose, Wolf has a 5–1–0 record and a .952 save percentage.
