WATCH: Jonathan Huberdeau snipes his first goal with the Calgary Flames

Calgary Flames forward Jonathan Huberdeau scored his first goal with his new team early in the second period against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday evening.

With the Flames on the power play after a Samuel Poulin slashing penalty, Nazem Kadri won the ensuing faceoff back to Rasmus Andersson at the point.

Andersson sent the puck over to the left wall for Huberdeau, who quickly unleashed a heavy shot from the top of the circle that beat Penguins goaltender Casey DeSmith.

Huberdeau, 29, entered Tuesday’s game with four assists in five outings but had yet to net his first goal as a Flame. He’d only taken five shots in his first give games in Calgary silks but fired three on net against the Penguins.

Nazem Kadri scored twice and Michael Stone also tallied for the Flames in their 4–1 win over Pittsburgh on Tuesday. Evgeni Malkin picked up the lone goal for the visitors.

The Flames outshot the Penguins 36 to 33 in the victory, which pushed them up to 5–1–0 to start the season. Calgary goaltender Jacob Markstrom made 32 saves for his fourth win of the year.

Andrew Mangiapane, Dillon Dube, Rasmus Andersson, Milan Lucic, and Nick Ritchie also picked up points for the Flames in the win. Calgary will return to action and continue its homestand against the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday evening.
