Saddledome back to full capacity beginning with Montreal on March 3

2 years agoThe Scotiabank Saddledome will soon be back at its full capacity of 19,289.
The Alberta provincial government confirmed on Saturday morning that the province will ease COVID-19 restrictions beginning on Mar. 1, which will include removal of capacity restrictions and most indoor masking requirements.
The Saddledome has been limited to half capacity since the province introduced restrictions in December to combat the omicron variant of COVID-19, though the Flames didn’t host any games until Jan. 13 due to the NHL rescheduling games.
The Mar. 3 game with Montreal will be the first full capacity game for the Flames since Dec. 11, as well as the first game all season without vaccine or mask requirements.
- For October through December, fans were required to show proof of vaccination and wear masks when not actively eating or drinking.
- For January through Feb. 8, the Saddledome was limited to half capacity (with masks and proof of vaccination) and prohibited from serving food or beverages.
- From Feb. 9 through Feb. 26, the Saddledome was allowed to serve food and beverages again but still limited to half capacity with masks (when not actively eating or drinking).
The Flames had eight home games in December and January rescheduled due to the omicron wave, with the games moved primarily into February and the dates formerly held vacant for the Beijing Olympic break.
The Flames will host Minnesota on Saturday night in the final home game with any restrictions in place.
