The Vegas Golden Knights have locked down one of their bottom six players.
As announced earlier this week, the 2023 Stanley Cup champions signed Keegan Kolesar to a three-year, $2.5 million deal on Friday.
So far this season, the right winger has seven goals and 11 points in 30 games. His career-high in goals came in 2022-23 and 2023-24, where he scored eight, while his career-high in points came in 2021-22 when he scored seven goals and 24 points.
Kolesar won the Stanley Cup with the Golden Knights in 2023, scoring two goals and five points in 22 games while picking up 50 penalty minutes in 22 games. The 27-year-old joined the team in 2017 after the Columbus Blue Jackets traded him to the Golden Knights during the 2017 draft. Kolesar made his debut during the 2019-20 season.

Bruins claim Oliver Wahlstrom off waivers

On Saturday, it was announced by the Boston Bruins that they claimed Oliver Wahlstrom off waivers from the New York Islanders.
Walhstrom was selected 11th overall by the Islanders in the 2018 draft, making his debut in the 2019-20 season where he played nine games with no points. His first full season was in 2020-21, scoring 12 goals and 21 points in 44 games. The following year, he had a career-high 13 goals and 24 points in 73 games.
However, Wahlstrom hasn’t found the same success over the past three seasons, mainly due to injuries. The biggest of which was an ACL injury in 2022-23 where he started the season scoring seven goals and 16 points in 35 games. Since then, he’s played just 59 games with four goals and 10 points the last two seasons.
Hopefully, he can turn his career around with the Bruins.

Maple Leafs netminder Anthony Stolarz placed on Injury Reserve

One of the best backups in the league, Anthony Stolarz, hit the Injury Reserve recently, the Toronto Maple Leafs announced on Sunday afternoon.
Stolarz was selected 45th overall in the 2012 draft by the Philadelphia Flyers, and has played for the Flyers, Edmonton Oilers, Anaheim Ducks, Florida Panthers, and Toronto Maple Leafs. Last season with the Panthers, he had a great season with a .925 save percentage and a 2.03 goals-against average in 27 games, helping the Panthers capture their first Stanley Cup in franchise history.
So far this season, the 30-year-old netminder has a .927 save percentage and a 2.15 goals-against average in 17 games played with the Leafs. The team has had strong goaltending from him and Joseph Woll, with the latter posting a .918 save percentage and a 2.24 goals-against average in 12 games played.
