After sitting out the Calgary Flames’ last two games as a healthy scratch, centre @Sean Monahan will return to the lineup on Tuesday evening as the Flames host the Colorado Avalanche.
Monahan, 27, currently ranks 11th on the Flames in scoring with 22 points (eight goals, 14 assists) in 63 games. He hasn’t recorded a point since scoring a power-play goal against the Winnipeg Jets back on Feb. 21.
“You’ve got to adjust to different situations,” Monahan told reporters after Tuesday’s skate. “Like I said, I’ve got to be better. Tonight’s got to be a good start for me.”
Monahan is expected to centre the Flames’ fourth line with @Milan Lucic and @Trevor Lewis. Newly-acquired forward @Ryan Carpenter is unlikely to dress against Colorado after making his Flames debut in Saturday’s 9–5 win over the Edmonton Oilers.
In 654 career regular-season games with the Flames, Monahan has 212 goals and 461 points. He’s signed through the 2022–23 season at a $6.375 million cap hit.
