Calgary Flames fans didn’t have to wait long to see @Tyler Toffoli score his first goal with his new team.
The 29-year-old winger broke in all alone on Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender @Elvis Merzlikins during the third period of Tuesday’s game after receiving an incredible lob pass from @Johnny Gaudreau.
Somehow, Toffoli managed to stay on his skates and dragged the puck around Merzlikins before sliding it on his backhand across the goal line.

The Flames acquired Toffoli from the Montreal Canadiens on Monday. In exchange, they sent prospect Emil Heineman, forward @Tyler Pitlick, and 2022 first- and fifth-round draft picks to Montreal.
Toffoli now has 10 goals and 27 points in 38 games this season. He has two years remaining after this one on his $4.25 million-AAV contract.
The Flames currently lead the Blue Jackets 6–2 in the dying minutes of the third period. @Erik Gudbranson, @Elias Lindholm, @Matthew Tkachuk, @Dillon Dube, and @Adam Ruzicka have also scored for Calgary in the game.
