New Flames choose new jersey numbers

A few of the Calgary Flames new faces have selected their jersey numbers for the upcoming season.
Joakim Nordstrom will wear #20. He’s the first Flame to wear it since Curtis Lazar (in 2018-19). Several players have worn 20 over the years, but the most prominent were Gary Suter and Curtis Glencross.
Josh Leivo will wear #27. He follows the recently-departed Austin Czarnik, who wore 27 for parts of two seasons and left as a free agent. Many prominent players have worn 27 in Calgary, including Eric Vail, Eddy Beers, John Tonelli, Todd Simpson, Marc Savard, Steve Staios and Dougie Hamilton.
Louis Domingue will wear #70 (if he’s on the Flames roster) and Dominik Simon will wear #81. Both would be the first to wear those numbers for the Flames.
Finally, Nikita Nesterov will don #89. He’s the second player to use that number, following Alan Quine.
