The Calgary Flames have more prospects playing right now than at any other point in the season. The most exciting young players they have are concentrated in Europe, especially with some COVID-19 stoppages impacting some of their North American prospects.
Let’s check in on the prospects!
In case you missed it:
- Last week’s update
- 2019 first round pick Jakob Pelletier and 2020 first round pick Connor Zary are in Red Deer for Hockey Canada’s World Junior selection camp. They both played in the first two scrimmages, with Pelletier accumulating a goal and an assist and Zary getting a goal (empty net) and three assists. The third scrimmage was postponed due to some positive COVID-19 tests within the player group.
Jake Boltmann- D, Lincoln Stars, USHL

Boltmann has seen half of his scheduled games postponed due to player safety reasons related to COVID-19 arena preparations. His next scheduled game is set for Dec. 3 in Fargo and is slated to be a three games in three nights situation.
Lucas Feuk- LW, AIK, Allsvenskan/Superelit
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe

Up to date | 15 | 6 | 15 | 21 | 10 | 15 | 8 | 32.6 |
Change from last week | 1 | 1 | 2 | 3 | 3 | 2 | 2 | +2.66 |
The good news: Francis had a great game against Saint John. The bad news: due to some positive tests on Saint John, they and Cape Breton have been sidelined for the time-being.
Johannes Kinnvall- D, HV71, SHL
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe

Change from last week | 2 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 0 | 2 | 0 | -3.67 |
HV71 returned from a COVID-19 pause and played well. Kinnvall continues to impress. His NHLe dipped simply because he’s scoring so damn much. He’s scoring just shy of a point per game on the power play alone.

Nikolayev had an assist, but Buran is in the midst of a five game losing skid.
Josh Nodler- C, Michigan State University Spartans, NCAA

Nodler had an assist and got off to a pretty solid start. He’s under consideration for a World Junior roster spot for the Americans.
Jakob Pelletier- LW, Val-d’Or Foreurs, QMJHL
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe
Up to date | 9 | 3 | 10 | 13 | 6 | 11 | 6 | 33.64 |

GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe
Up to date | 15 | 5 | 11 | 16 | 11 | 12 | 8 | 24.84 |
Change from last week | 1 | 0 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 1 | 1 | +1.55 |
Poirier had two assists in his one game, but positive COVID-19 tests have but the Sea Dogs on the shelf for a couple weeks.
Martin Pospisil- C/LW, HC Kosice, Tipsport Liga
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe
Up to date | 12 | 7 | 2 | 9 | 5 | 8 | 5 | n/a |
Change from last week | 2 | 2 | 0 | 2 | 1 | 2 | 1 | n/a |
For what it’s worth, Pospisil is an effective offensive player for Kosice. Sure, it’s the Slovak league, but it’s better than not playing and not scoring.
Ilya Solovyov- D, Dynamo Minsk, KHL
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe
KHL up to date | 21 | 0 | 3 | 3 | 3 | 1 | 1 | 9.39 |
Change from last week | 3 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | -1.57 |
Solovyov is in a unique little niche for Minsk: he plays a ton, in a shutdown role. He’s not used in a lot of offense-generating situations, but he’s 20 and getting reps in the second-best league in the world and not getting his doors blown off.
Filip Sveningsson- LW, MODO Hockey, Allsvenskan
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe
Up to date | 13 | 2 | 1 | 3 | 3 | 2 | 2 | 7.51 |

Change from last week | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | n/a |
Tuulola made his debut for his new team. He didn’t score, but at least he’s still playing.
Juuso Valimaki- D, Tampereen Ilves, SM-Liiga
GP | G | A | P | 5v5 P | P1 | 5v5 P1 | NHLe
Up to date | 17 | 2 | 15 | 17 | 10 | 13 | 8 | 36.98 |

Point per game Valimaki remains scoring at at a point per game. As a defenseman. In a really good league.
