The calendar has flipped over into October, and suddenly there’s a lot of hockey happening or about to happen. Canadian major junior hockey has begun! Some college leagues have begun! European hockey is underway.
With all this hockey happening, let’s jump into the mailbag!

This and that:

  • Calgary’s NHL camp is underway and a handful of prospects remain with the big club.
  • Stockton’s camp is underway! They play exhibition games on Friday and Sunday against Bakersfield.
  • The Ontario Hockey League begins play next week. Jack Beck (Ottawa) and Rory Kerins (Sault Ste. Marie) will begin their seasons on the weekend.
  • Michigan State lost to the U.S. National Development Team in an exhibition on Friday. Josh Nodler and Mitchell Mattson were held off the scoresheet.
  • Notre Dame lost to the U.S. National Development Team in an exhibition on Sunday. Jake Boltmann had one shot and was minus-2.
