The Calgary Flames are back in action on Hockey Night in Canada against the Los Angeles Kings. This game means much more to the Kings than the Flames, as they are still fighting for positioning in this year’s Stanley Cup playoffs. You can assume goals will be scored when these two teams meet. Tonight’s over is set at 5.5, which they’ve gone over in five of their last six meetings.
Today’s confirmed goaltender match-up for our highlighted game:
The Los Angeles Kings’ David Rittich (11-5-3) vs. The Calgary Flames’ Jacob Markstrom (22-19-2).

Mikael Backlund over 2.5 shots on goal (-105)

Your $10.00 bet would return $19.52.
Mikael Backlund was one of our favourite bets to place earlier this season, and it’s time to go back to him in this matchup.
The Flames Captain has been quiet in the shots department lately, clearing this line in just four of his last 10 games and averaging 2.3 shots on 5.4 shot attempts. But fear not — Backlund has a new left winger tonight, the pass-first master Jonathan Huberdeau.
Against the Kings, Backlund has cleared this line in both games this season, averaging 4.0 shots on 7.5 shot attempts. Los Angeles allows the fourth most shots on goal to centres, averaging 11.5 per game over their last 10.

Adrian Kempe point (-150)

Your $15.00 bet would return $25.00.
Adrian Kempe has eight points in four of his last five games. While Kempe was held off the scoresheet last game against the Edmonton Oilers, he hasn’t gone two straight games without a point in his previous 10 games.
Kempe has scored nine points in six of his last seven games against the Flames. However, Calgary has struggled to keep the puck out of its net lately, allowing the third-most goals against (4.2) per game over its last ten games.
As one of the Kings’ top snipers, Kempe has just one goal over his last seven games. That’s right; seven of the eight points on his current streak have been assists. Expect that to change tonight and sprinkle $5.00 on his anytime goal for (+240) odds.
