Slim Pickens for tonight’s NHL slate, as there are just two games on the docket. The Columbus Blue Jackets finish out their home and home against the New York Rangers — while the St. Louis Blues battle Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers for the second time in less than two weeks.
Tonight’s expected goaltender match-ups for our highlighted games:
The Columbus Blue Jackets’ Elvis Merzlikins (11-12-7) vs. The New York Rangers’ Igor Shesterkin (25-12-1).
The St. Louis Blues’ Jordan Binnington (20-16-2) vs. The Edmonton Oilers’ Stuart Skinner (26-13-2).

Mika Zibanejad over 2.5 shots (-150)

Your $15.00 bet would return $25.00.
Mika Zibanejad has cleared this line in five of his last six games, averaging 3.7 shots on 6.3 shot attempts. In Madison Square Garden this season, Zibanejad is only clearing at a 46% clip, averaging 2.3 shots per game but his recent performance and match-up is something to target.
The Rangers have played the Blue Jackets three times this season – Zibanejad has covered this line in all three meetings, averaging 4.0 shots on 10.7 shot attempts per game. At home against the Blue Jackets, Zibanejad has cleared in six straight games and averages 4.5 shots per game.
On the season, the Blue Jackets allow the 10th-most shots on goal to centres, averaging 11.2 shots per game to the position. Columbus is allowing 3.4 power play opportunities over their last 10 games. Zibanejad is second on the Rangers in power play shots and shot attempts.

Robert Thomas point (-138)

Your $10.00 bet would return $17.27.
Robert Thomas has points in seven of his last nine games, totalling 14 points. On the road this season, Thomas is averaging a point per game and has 11 points in his previous eight games.
In 12 career games against the Oilers, Thomas has points in 10 games, totalling 15 points. After a dominant stretch from Skinner and the Oilers, they’ve come back down to earth — allowing 3.9 goals per game over their last 10. Over Skinner’s last seven starts after the All-Star break, he has a 4.02 goals against average and a .871 save percentage.
