With World Juniors ahead of us, the CHL going on hiatus, and only two Stockton Heat games, we bid adieu to the prospect update for the time being (one week).

In case you missed it

  • Here’s last week’s update.
  • And that’s it!

Rasmus Andersson – D, Stockton Heat, AHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current223131698728.02
Change from last week3101012-2.4
Had himself a pretty nifty goal:

Austin Carroll – RW, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current80000000
Change from last week10000000
Played a game of hockey this weekend. Still not sure why he can’t get playing time ahead of Luke Gazdic and Tanner Glass.

Dillon Dube – C/LW, Kelowna Rockets, WHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current2718213920281434.35
Change from last week00111200.88
Dube is so good that he doesn’t even have to play to increase his point total. He was awarded another assist on a 5v5 goal in the game before he departed for Team Canada’s WJC camp. He’s currently penciled in on the first line next to Sam Steel and Taylor Raddysh.

Zach Fischer – RW, Spokane Chiefs, WHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current251492316161321.88
Change from last week31232211.5
Three more points for Fischer this week. He hasn’t been scoring in volume, but he’s been scoring consistently. If he can take his game one level higher, he could really be a fifth round steal.

Spencer Foo – RW, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current245712511419.27
Change from last week3011010-0.92
Foo has become quite the handy powerplay weapon, and has also found a potential partner in Marek Hrivik.
If only there was space on the fourth line.

Adam Fox – D, Harvard Crimson, ECAC

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current1009933016.97
Change from last week00000000
Fox is on winter break right now, and probably won’t return to NCAA action until mid-January, due to the WJC.

Glenn Gawdin – C/RW, Swift Current Broncos, WHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current3431376836542747.56
Change from last week33474330.77
Gawdin hasn’t missed a beat even with linemate Tyler Steenbergen at Canada’s WJC camp. Seven more points for the centreman this week. Heading into the break, Gawdin is currently the WHL’s leading scorer in December with 19 points, six more than second place. He still has three more games to play this month, by the way.

Josh Healey – D, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current190110102.03
Change from last week30110102.03
I finally get to write something else here besides the number of games Healey played the past week. He recorded his first professional point, a primary assist on a shorthanded goal.

D’Artagnan Joly – RW, Baie-Comeau Drakkar, QMJHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current2610162615241521.32
Change from last week3000000-1.85
After a few very productive weeks in a row, Joly had a quiet one. Three games, no points.

Pavel Karnaukhov – LW/C, CSKA Moscow, KHL/Zvezda, VHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
KHL current1002221112.14
Change from last week1000000-1.34
VHL current249142314171029.86
Change from last week4123222-1.3
Still bouncing between KHL and VHL. He scored three points in four games for Zvezda this week.

Morgan Klimchuk – LW, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current251081811151027.75
Change from last week3022121-0.28
Klimchuk finally picked up assists after weeks and weeks of just goals. Nothing wrong with that, though.

Oliver Kylington – D, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current252121488621.58
Change from last week3101111-1.19
Kylington scored his first goal since Oct. 14. He’s been heating up in the past few weeks, which is good news.

Linus Lindstrom – C/LW, Skelleftea AIK, SHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current262133225.49
Change from last week00000000
No news for Lindstrom this week, not even on the WJC front. Hopefully he makes it in.

Ryan Lomberg – LW, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current242244336.42
Change from last week3000000-0.92
Lomberg fought twice this week, picking up 20 PIMS. He is as advertised.

Andrew Mangiapane – LW/C, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current2510172715181141.62
Change from last week3011100-3.93
Mangiapane continues to slide backwards. Although scoring is trickling down the lineup, you feel that he could certainly be doing a bit better than he is right now. Maybe he gets back into his groove soon enough.

Mitchell Mattson – C/LW, Sioux Falls Stampede, USHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current2466121010811.48
Change from last week20111110
The big news with Mattson is that he switched commitments from the University of North Dakota to Michigan State University. Perhaps this sheds some light on his decision to return to the USHL this year. UND is a pretty prestigious hockey program, and it was unlikely Mattson was going to be doing much as a freshman at that school. Michigan State also plays in a tough conference, but they aren’t as highly regarded and have less quality prospects than UND. Perhaps the openings with the Spartans helps Mattson take his game to higher levels.
Another assist this week for him in USHL play.

Adam Ollas Mattsson – D, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date140000000
Change from last week00000000
No games played. Unclear if injury or coaching decision.

Matthew Phillips – C/RW, Victoria Royals, WHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current3624295323391635.01
Change from last week3123322-1.02
Phillips had a typical week, scoring at a point per game. You really wonder why Team Canada didn’t invite him.

Emile Poirier – LW/RW, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current242111389520.88
Change from last week3011111-1.14
Another week, another assist for Poirier. He’s low volume, but consistent.

Brett Pollock – LW/C, Stockton Heat, AHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current80110004.82
Change from last week1000000-0.69
Played a game this week.

Daniel Pribyl – RW/C, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current00000000
Still injured.

Rushan Rafikov – D, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, KHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current3611011107618.54
Change from last week00000000
Didn’t play this week. Injured.

Adam Ruzicka – C/LW, Sarnia Sting, OHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date3420193915351128.22
Change from last week2011111-0.99
Ruzicka had a few struggle-filled weeks before heading to the WJC. Maybe he finds his game again at the tournament.

Hunter Shinkaruk – F, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date238311610618.43
Change from last week31122221.09
Shinkaruk is heating up at the right time. He’s had back-to-back two point weeks.

Hunter Smith – RW, Kansas City Mavericks, ECHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date26871513151313.24
Change from last week2101020-0.14
Another point for Smith this week, who appears to be finding some sort of scoring touch in the ECHL.

Filip Sveningsson – LW, HV71, Superelit/SHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
SHL current60000000
Change from last week00000000
Superelit current17913221317921.22
Change from last week00000000
Nothing to report on Sveningsson.

Eetu Tuulola – RW, HPK, SM-Liiga

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current28841259415.11
Change from last week1000000-0.56
Eetu played a game and then went off to the Finnish WJC camp. Nothing really to say beyond that.

Juuso Valimaki – D, Tri-City Americans, WHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current1951520914625.10
Change from last week1011110-0.17
Valimaki is heading to the WJC on a six-game point streak. Good momentum, I’d say.

Tyler Wotherspoon – D, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Current2531316810724.67
Change from last week30220100.14
Just two assists for Wotherspoon this week. It really sucks you’re only allowed six defencemen in an NHL game. He really deserves a look right now.

Jon Gillies – G, Stockton Heat

GPTOISV%SA
Current16956.010.920424
Change from last week2121.01-0.00764
A rough week for Gillies, allowing nine goals on 64 shots (0.859 SV%).

Mason McDonald – G, Kansas City Mavericks, ECHL

GPTOISV%SA
Current115890.885270
Change from last week21040.01155
McDonald had a pretty solid week, stepping in for Tyler Parsons and stopping 21 of 22 in relief and 30 of 33 in the next game (0.927 SV% combined).

Tyler Parsons – G, Kansas City Mavericks

GPTOISV%SA
Current1910340.907567
Change from last week11908
Parsons apparently went down with a lower body injury against Colorado. No word on severity or length, and the Mavericks don’t have much of a break to let him get some time off. They have eight games between now and the new year, including one today.

David Rittich – G, Stockton Heat – X

GPTOISV%SA
Current6359.70.931188
Change from last week0000
In the NHL for the time being. In case you missed it, here’s a story about his interesting pre-game ritual of taking two pucks to the head before playing.

Nick Schneider – G, Calgary Hitmen, WHL

GPTOISV%SA
Current2916880.885854
Change from last week3150-0.00173
As usual, Schneider had one great game (stopping 35 of 36 against the Oil Kings, good for a 0.972 SV%) and a few lousy ones (five goals on 16 shots and getting yanked early against Kootenay, and then following that up with a 0.810 SV% in the next game).
