Something about the Calgary Flames and guys whose names start with the letter “M.”

In case you missed it:

Zach Fischer – RW, Kansas City Mavericks, ECHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date70111113.28
Change from last week
Didn’t play at all last week. Unknown if it’s healthy scratch or injury.

Spencer Foo – RW, Stockton Heat, AHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date20541047219.93
Change from last week4011100-2.49
Foo’s struggles have become more and more apparent over the last few weeks. With Andrew Mangiapane out until the latest game, Foo was nominally the team’s top winger and failed to produce. Maybe things will turn around, but he’s certainly running out of room, and single-point weeks aren’t going to move him up the recall list.

Glenn Gawdin – C/RW, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date2072929217.93
Change from last week4202020+0.49
Two more powerplay goals for Gawdin this week, who is just feasting on opposing penalty kills. I don’t know if he necessarily has what it takes to be a future NHLer, but if he’s a fourth liner with special teams value, that’s pretty good for a free find.

Josh Healey – D, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date180333226.64
Change from last week4011111+0.95
Four games, one assist for Healey. He is one point away from matching his 2017-18 totals.

D’Artagnan Joly – RW/C, Baie-Comeau Drakkar, QMJHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date2611112214171119.71
Change from last week3011100-1.55
Just a secondary assist for Joly this week. Starting to look very shaky about ever getting an NHL contract.

Pavel Karnaukhov – LW/C, CSKA Moscow, KHL/Zvezda, VHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date (KHL)1412332217.98
Change from last week3000000-3.68
Up to date (VHL)731444417.81

Perhaps staying in the KHL for good? He hasn’t been to the VHL since international break.

Morgan Klimchuk – LW, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date1635873319.93
Change from last week4224422+6.65
Been looking superb since coming off the IR. Maybe he gets into gear and fights his way back into the prospect conversation.

Demetrious Koumontzis – LW, Arizona State University, NCAA (Independent)

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date1617838314.8
Change from last week20111110
Just an assist for Koumontzis this week.

Oliver Kylington – D, Stockton Heat – X

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date187714810831
Change from last week2101010-1.38
In Calgary! For how long? Who knows. His parting gift to Stockton was a goal.

Linus Lindstrom – C/LW, Skelleftea AIK, SHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date171011111.88
Change from last week2000000-0.25
Back from injury. Still struggling, however.

Ryan Lomberg – LW, Stockton Heat – X

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date1824644213.28
Change from last week2000000-1.66
Currently in Calgary, but hasn’t played yet.

Andrew Mangiapane – LW/C, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date126713810743.17
Change from last week1101010-0.3
Back from injury and has already potted a goal upon his return.

Mitchell Mattson – C/LW, Michigan State, NCAA (Big 10)

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date50000000
Change from last week10000000
Finally got back into a game for Michigan State after a two-week absence. Was scratched for the second game, however. Unclear if it’s injury, but likely healthy.

Adam Ollas Mattsson – D, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date202354439.96
Change from last week4101111+2.49
Not much on-ice for AOM this week.

Mathias Emilio Pettersen – C/LW, Denver Pioneers, NCAA (NCHC)

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date12591458342
Change from last week2101010-4.8
Powerplay goal for MEP this week.
This may be his final set of games before the Div 1A WJCs, which take place in the second week of December. Denver doesn’t play next weekend, and he’ll (presumably) be in transit before they return.

Matthew Phillips – RW, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date1743755416.41
Change from last week4112121+1.08
Chugging along at a half-point-per-game pace. Not bad for a bottom six rookie.

Brett Pollock – LW/C, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date160443229.96
Change from last week3011111+0.76
Just an assist for Pollock this week. Pushed out of the lineup when Mangiapane returned.

Martin Pospisil – C/LW, Sioux City Musketeers, USHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date1710213116231041.87
Change from last week1011010-1.18
Played one game but missed the other two for Sioux City. There’s no given reason, but considering his recent NCAA fallout, it’s one of those things that make you go “hmmm.”

Rushan Rafikov – D, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, KHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date2535866521.1
Change from last week2000000-1.83
No points for Rafikov this week.

Milos Roman – C, Vancouver Giants, WHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date241211231019623.73
Change from last week221312+1.22
Another big week for Roman, who went over a point-per-game for the second week running. Slowly developing into the key piece for Vancouver.

Adam Ruzicka – C/LW, Sarnia Sting, OHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date25718251117926.49
Change from last week4426363+2.53
A rough week for Ruzicka, who only picked up a powerplay assist in three games this week.

Kerby Rychel – F, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date2096151211929.89
Change from last week4235533+2.30
A huge week for Rychel, who was especially dominant at 5v5.

Filip Sveningsson – LW, IK Oskarshamn, Allsvenskan

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date218917712646.16
Change from last week3000000-6.6
Sveningsson’s miniature reign of terror in the Allsvenskan may be over, at least temporarily. No points in his last four games.

Eetu Tuulola – RW, HPK, SM-Liiga

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date256915812523.72
Change from last week2000000-0.45
Three games, no points for the baby-faced assassin.

Rinat Valiev – D, Stockton Heat

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date160333227.47
Change from last week4033322+7.47
First three assists of the season for Valiev.

Dmitri Zavgorodniy – C/LW, Rimouski Oceanic, QMJHL

GPGAP5v5 PP15v5 P1NHLe
Up to date2614193318231329.56
Change from last week3213222-0.82
Set such a high bar for himself that a point-per-game week results in his NHLe going down.

Jon Gillies – G, Stockton Heat

GPTOISV%
Up to date14632.460.852
Change from last week2+79.54-0.003
Returned from injury to have a very Jon Gillies and anti-Jon Gillies week. The first part means that he returned and got pulled after allowing a flurry of goals. The second part means that he did the exact opposite when Nick Schneider got lit up.

Mason McDonald – G, Kansas City Mavericks

GPTOISV%
Up to date63710.916
Change from last week165-0.002
Allowed five goals on 44 shots (17/20 = 0.850 and 22/24 = 0.917).

Tyler Parsons – G, Stockton Heat

Out with a UBI.

Nick Schneider – G, Stockton Heat

AHL Up to date8161.030.935

Perhaps the Schneider-mania is disappearing just as quickly as it showed up. Three quick goals in less than three minutes against Tuscon and three goals on 14 shots in the first period against San Diego were major lowlights this week for Schneider. He did have a strong start (33/35 = 0.943) and stole a win in relief of Gillies.
