Playoffs are here! Most of the Flames’ prospects are gearing up for what hopes to be a long and fruitful postseason. It’s not the postseason we’re all looking forward to, but I guess it’s still something.

In case you missed it:

CSKA will face off against other KHL powerhouse SKA for the Gagarin Cup after putting Dynamo Moscow to bed in just five games. Karnaukhov picked up a goal in game five to open the scoring.

ASU will face Quinnipiac in the Frozen Four. They’re probably one of the underdogs of the tournament, having only been a team for three years, but they’ve been underdogs all year and here they are.

(He also had two late addition secondary powerplay assists tacked onto his stats from last week.)

Rushan Rafikov – D, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, KHL

Lokomotiv has been eliminated, falling 4-1 to SKA. Rafikov picked up the intensity in the final two games, notching an assist in game four and scoring the late, game-tying goal to drag game five to OT.
Although now eligible to be signed by the Flames, nothing’s happened yet, and nothing probably will.

Milos Roman – C, Vancouver Giants, WHL

The Giants are currently tied 1-1 with Seattle in the first round of the WHL playoffs. Roman’s efforts have only been limited to the powerplay, which is where he picked up both of his points.

Adam Ruzicka – C/LW, Sudbury Wolves, OHL

The Wolves are one win away from sweeping the Mississauga Steelheads, thanks in part to Adam Ruzicka. The Slovakian product has picked up four assists, including the primary assist on the overtime goal in game two.

Sveningsson and Oskarshamn have moved on to the next phase of the Allsvenskan postseason. After beating top team AIK in a five-game series, Oskarshamn have earned the right to challenge Tikra, the worst team in the SHL, for their spot in Sweden’s top league. The seven-game series kicks off this week. Sveningsson won the Superelit title last year, having scored the winning goal for his team. Perhaps he does it again?
