Flames forward Johnny Gaudreau named NHL’s second star of the month

By Mike Gould
1 year agoAfter scoring 26 points in his last 16 games, Calgary Flames winger @Johnny Gaudreau has been named the National Hockey League’s second star for the month of March.
Only Nashville Predators defenceman @Roman Josi — named the first star of the month — scored more points than Gaudreau’s 26 in March. Florida Panthers goaltender @Sergei Bobrovsky was named the third star.
Gaudreau, 28, scored three game-winning goals for the Flames in March and helped the team to a 9–4–3 record in 16 games. He picked up the sixth hat trick of his NHL career on March 10 against Tampa Bay and racked up five assists against the Edmonton Oilers on March 26.
Gaudreau follows @Jacob Markstrom as the second consecutive Flame to be named the NHL’s second star of the month. The Flames will return to action on Saturday when they host the St. Louis Blues on Hockey Night in Canada.
