FlamesNation Prospect Update: The quest to 100

Scoring in the triple digits as a prospect is usually a very positive sign. The Flames have two such prospects who could reach that mark. Sounds pretty good.

Austin Carroll’s been in the doghouse all year, but his recent good performances should allow him to keep his place in the lineup (once he returns from injury, hopefully). A goal and an assist this week, with the goal being pretty slick:

If you prorate Dube’s production over the course of a full WHL season (72 games), he would finish with 105 points. That would make him one of three Flames WHL prospects to (theoretically) hit that goal.

He’s on pace to surpass last year’s Stockton Heat shot leader, Mark Jankowski, by 12 shots. That’s pretty good.

Now back in the AHL. An honest review of his NHL time was that he’s still not just quite ready yet. It’s probably for the best given that he wasn’t going to get much more than 10 minutes a night. Some might be disappointed, but it’s really the best for all involved.
